Contact Committees
Alcohol legislation is heard before two different committees in the Maryland General Assembly: the House Economic Matters Committee (ECM) and the Senate Education, Health & Environmental Affairs Committee (EHEA). Although the EHEA committee votes on alcohol legislation as a whole, ECM has an Alcohol Sub-Committee to which all alcohol legislation is referred. Once the Alcohol Sub-Committee renders a favorable or unfavorable recommendation, then the full ECM votes on the legislation.
